Chase

Although Chase wasn't my first horse, I have had him the longest and learned the most on horsemanship and riding on him.  I've owned a few horses before him, who ended up turning lame, so had to resell.

My first horse Freeda.

Second horse Sandy, who could never stand still.

I had bought Chase as my first barrel horse.  I had gotten professional barrel racing training to learn how to ride my horse and had taken him to a few shoes the first year.  He had never gotten too hot or fast, which was just right for me to start off with.

He was great on the saddle, but he had a lot of other problems on the ground which had very much made me dislike him at first, but now I find him the perfect trail horse.  When I had gotten him, it was obvious that he had been neglected since whenever grooming him down he would give warning kicks.  In fact, he was actually trying to tell us something was wrong.  He had kidney beans stuck up his penis.  He was also very herd bound, hated leaving his herd, and hated when one would leave him.  But after owning him for over two years, we had both learned to really like and trust each other. He is the alpha horse out of the pack, and can be still quite a prick to the others, but he loves leaving them to come out for a ride.  He barely gives me any troubles anymore.  I no longer barrel race Chase anymore, but try to make it out everyday with him and ride him bareback in the fields behind my farm.

Country Geek

Although I was born in the city, have lived in multiple town homes most of my life, I have always been a true country girl at heart.  I have always had a deep love for animals since a very young age, and have since moved to the farm two years ago.  This is where I got to experience the handling and raising of all kinds of different animals.

Animals I have housed at the farm is mostly horses(included miniatures), sheep, goats, ducks, geese, teacup pot belly pig, rabbits, chinchillas, and guinea pigs.  The farm has taught me the most country experiences, which I will share with you on this blog in the future.  Below are some pictures of my favourite animals.

My horse, Chase.
My golden retriever, Emma.
My young filly, Sierra.
Clyde(on the left) is a pygmy goat, and Flint(on the right) is a Nigerian Dwarf.

Heathcliff, our miniature babydoll sheep.
